If you’ve found your way here through one of these, you already know the feeling.

You’ve read a book or an article. Watched a video. Joined a community.

Something clicked and then… nothing

Not because you lack drive. Because nobody gave you a map.

Impact Waypoint turns scattered insights into a guided path

A concrete, personalised starting point, not another article to bookmark.

Which of these is holding you back?

I’m stuck:

  • “How do I choose a cause (like climate, AI, or health) without feeling guilty about ignoring the others?”
  • “What if I choose the ‘wrong’ direction and waste my time, talent, or money?”
  • “How do I balance a normal, happy life with the heavy pressure to ‘maximize’ my impact?”

Impact Waypoint — the ultimate guided path to high impact

The answers you need already exist. They are just scattered across dozens of organizations, buried in long guides, or locked behind premature quizzes. Impact Waypoint connects the dots so you get clarity in minutes or hours, instead of months.

My story

Mateusz in the mountains

How I almost gave up

Early 2026, I decided I wanted my work to matter more. I read the books, watched the talks, took the quizzes, joined the communities. Something clicked. Then… nothing.

A folder full of bookmarks. No idea what to do Monday morning. Months bouncing between cause areas, half-finished courses, Slack channels — feeling like everyone else had it figured out.

How I learned I wasn't alone

I started actually talking to people. Dozens of them. Turns out I wasn't the exception. Symptoms were consistent:

  • Not a lack of motivation. A lack of clarity.
  • Not a lack of resources. Too many of them, scattered, with no map.

One person spent four months stuck choosing between climate policy and AI safety — not from lack of information, but because no one helped her connect the dots.

Another spent three months chasing ten directions at once, applying to jobs she didn't even want — and burned out.

Some of the sharpest people I met just disappeared a few months later. Not because they stopped caring. Because they never found their next step.

First steps - a way out of the hole

I applied to Polish Effective Altruism (EA) Intro program, Impact Accelerator Program (IAP) ran by High Impact Professionals (HIP) and International EA Intro Program. I went through circle starter training at School of Moral Ambition (SMA). I searched, and read and spoke to people.

It took time and effort

(and a few times getting lost along the way)

Fast forward a few months and I completed the Polish EA program, IAP, started the Global EA program and formed a group for an SMA Circle. I met amazing people from all parts of the world.

Along the way, I made mistakes, learned a lot, heard different perspectives, seen tons of struggles, but finally found the answers I was looking for.

My cause areas

I was drawn in several directions, but finally I decided to focus on 2 areas - Mental Health and meta impact. Was it the right call? Time will tell. But Impact Waypoint is one of the things from the meta impact area I decided to focus on.

In any case, my journey wasn't effective and it pained me to see so many bright minds disappear along the way or get frustrated with their journey.

That's why I used my experience and started building the map and sketching the framework that became:

Impact Waypoint

A place that offers a journey of clarity.

A place that helps streamline your path to impact.

A place I wish I had when I started out.
